Range
A measure of spread: largest value minus smallest value.
Definition
Range is sensitive to outliers — a single extreme value changes the range dramatically. The interquartile range (Q3 − Q1) is more robust.
Example
Range of 4, 7, 9, 12, 18 is 18 − 4 = 14.
